Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string for spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can view and download images, so embedded location data could be extracted.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to save your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies last one year.
Visiting the login page sets a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
When you log in, cookies are set to save your login information and screen preferences. Login cookies last two days, screen options cookies last one year. Selecting “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
Editing or publishing an article sets an additional cookie containing only the post ID, expiring after one day.

Comments and metadata are retained indefinitely to automatically recognize follow-up comments.
For registered users, we store personal information in the user profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their information (except username). Administrators can view and edit all user data.

If you have an account or left comments, you can request an exported file of personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase your personal data, except for information we must keep for legal or administrative reasons.
